Barbershop tablet queue setup
You do not need a reception desk PC. A tablet queue setup is enough for most walk-in UK shops: one screen for the barber, one QR poster for customers.
Hardware checklist
- iPad or Android tablet, 9.7" or larger
- Stable shop WiFi (not a phone hotspot that drops)
- Simple stand so the tablet faces the barber, not the floor
- Printed QR poster in a sleeve near the door
Setup steps
- Charge the tablet and connect WiFi.
- Sign in to your Line Me Up shop account.
- Place the QR code where new arrivals naturally look.
- Do a test join on your phone and call yourself as next.
- Show staff the single rule: the tablet list is the only list.
Common mistakes
- QR hidden behind products or at knee height.
- Running a paper list “just in case” — that breaks trust.
- Leaving the tablet locked with a complex passcode mid-rush.
- Weak WiFi near the chairs even if the till has signal.

If you do not own a tablet
Line Me Up can provide a tablet for a one-off £100 fee, then you only pay per completed customer — no monthly software bill.
